Self-Care Classes for Lymph Stasis

About Self-Care Classes

Live online classes provide information and education in assorted modalities to teach self-care for those with lymph stasis, including the conditions of lipedema and lymphedema. Included are modalities to reduce fibrosis and encourage lymph flow — modalities outside traditionally-prescribed treatments — including reflexology, cupping, myofascial release using the Myofascial Energetic Length Technique® method, kinesio taping, Empowered Relief® for pain management, etc.

Please note that there are contraindications for participation in classes. Please do not enroll in classes if you are experiencing any of the following: active infections, blood clots, cellulitis, deep venous thrombosis, kidney failure, any unstable heart condition, or pregnancy.

Please review the attendance policy below.

If you’re interested in classes such as those listed below, please email me with a list of those classes you’re interested in, and I’ll email you once I’ve scheduled a class. Thank you.

Empowered Relief® Pain Management Class

About Empowered Relief®

Empowered Relief® teaches pain management skills and has been shown to help with pain, especially in those with chronic low back pain. Participants in a study conducted by Carriere, et al. (2025) found that after four weeks, they tended to report less pain, improved mood, and better physical function. The program was developed at Stanford University by pain researchers and is delivered exclusively by certified clinicians world-wide.

Myofascial Release: Feet

About Myofascial Release Classes

Enroll in both hand and foot classes to learn the full protocol.

Hand and foot classes are based on the Myofascial Energetic Length Technique® (MELT) Method, which uses therapy balls to rehydrate and rebalance connective tissue. By stimulating this tissue in the body and manipulating pressure points in fascia, we can loosen it and reduce inflammation, aches, pains and stiffness.

The treatments focus on the hands and feet as foundational for the body’s overall well-being. You will learn simple self-treatment techniques using therapy balls. These techniques involve using pressure and gliding motions to rehydrate and release tension.

These self treatments are ideal for those experiencing limited mobility, such as late-stage lipedema and lymphedema.

Supplies

A semi-soft ball is needed for both classes. However, you can work with any ball you’d like. The ideal ball is about 2 inches in diameter with a grippy texture and relatively soft. Amazon has several sets which I’ve found are soft enough and work well. I’ve found the set below to be my favorite; these balls are a good size and pliability.

I use a thin yoga mat to to keep the ball from slipping out from under my hands and feet as I’m working. I cut this mat in half to use a half piece on a table top and on the floor and save the other half for when this one is worn.

Reflexology Lymphatic Drainage

About Lymphatic Reflexology Classes

Reflexology Lymph Drainage targets the lymph reflexes in the hands in particular and is an effective way of stimulating the body’s own response to reduce swelling, clear out toxins and blockages, and boost the ability to fight infection. Based on the Reflexology Lymph Drainage protocol, this method has been used in lieu of whole-body manual lymphatic drainage treatments. RLD follows the basic techniques of manual lymphatic drainage. The key difference between manual lymphatic drainage and RLD is that instead of working the area of the body affected by fluid and swelling, it focuses solely on the hands (and feet) by encouraging the flow of fluid through the manipulation of lymphatic reflex points.

Attendance Policy

Please participate in class as you are able.

My intent is that these classes provide an invigorating and healing experience for each participant. My goal is that we’re better able to energize and motivate ourselves in the collective and that these modalities which will affect those who use them in a positive way. In creating these lessons, I wanted to give alternatives to those who are unable to afford the myriad of treatments necessary for the care of lymph stasis and for those who find traditional treatments somewhat futile. While these classes are offered for a small fee to cover video conferencing costs, that doesn’t mean that many hours of labor haven’t gone into them.

I ask that you please respect my work and intention. In that vein, everyone in class should have their camera on so that we can interact. It truly doesn’t matter what any of us look like — it just matters that we show up. Even if you’re feeling bad and having a bad day, please consider attending. I would ask that if you find that you are unable to attend, there is a link in the email originally sent to you which you can use to cancel your seat so that it’s available for another.

Thank you!
